2026–27 Australian Migration Program New Quotas New Opportunities
A New Migration Program Year Begins
The 2026–27 Australian Migration Program officially commenced on 1 July 2026, bringing a new program year with fresh occupation ceilings, invitation round allocations, and state nomination quotas.
For applicants whose occupations had limited or no quota during the 2025–26 program year, this marks a genuine fresh start, with new places now available.
Existing SkillSelect EOIs Will Carry Over
Applicants who already have an Expression of Interest (EOI) lodged in SkillSelect do not need to submit a new EOI.
Existing EOIs will automatically carry over with their current:
- Date of Effect
- Points score
This means applicants will remain in the SkillSelect pool without needing to re-lodge their EOI.
Keep in Mind: If you already have an active EOI in SkillSelect, it will continue to be considered under the 2026–27 Migration Program.
Australian Migration Program: New Opportunities for Some Occupations
The new migration program year may also benefit occupations that received zero Subclass 189 invitation places during 2025–26, including several accounting occupations, as new allocations may become available throughout the 2026–27 program year.
